Congrés Internacional d'Esport i Turisme de Muntanya
On November 23 and 24, the "Congrés Internacional d' Esport i Turisme de Muntanya" took place. Run by the Puigcerdà City Council and the Catalan Foundation for Sports, with the support of the General Secretariat of Sports and Physical Activity, and the Provincial Councils of Girona, Lleida and Barcelona. Throughout the congress, institutions and people who support and help the territory have made an appearance.
Ms. Lourdes Revetllat as head of the Territorial Representation of Lleida, SR. Eduard Inglés as Director of the INEFC and SR. Jordi Gassió, Mayor of Puigcerdà, closed the Congress.
During the two days, the Casino Cretetà in Puigcerdà welcomed more than 230 people from all over the Pyrenees, a great success in terms of participation.
With a clear objective, share and add knowledge.
Through presentations and international round tables, we have been able to learn about Andorran, Italian, Norwegian and French realities that, with a total of 28 speakers, have given value to sport and tourism.
Thus, we conclude this first congress.
The scientific committee is working to draw specific and real conclusions from what happened in these two days but we can now make a small progress.
It is necessary to continue establishing joint synergies within the Pyrenees, focusing on sport and active tourism and, above all, bringing these two realities together in order to establish contact networks to determine actions and stakeholders.
We are making progress towards our goal, but there is still a lot of work to do, which is why the congress has not only been the end of a series of meetings and conferences that have been held throughout the year throughout the Catalan Pyrenees with the objective of promoting it and bringing it closer, but the starting point for an impact study and presentations of data and real actions in the Pyrenees, which will allow us to know the reality in detail to continue building forward and recognize the asset that surrounds us.
In the coming weeks you will find the conclusions and other final information on the website and on our social networks.
